A Living Tapestry of Nature in Motion

This painting was born twice.

It had been a gift to Danielly from another friend — red flowers she never quite connected with. She wanted blue. So Désirée sanded it down, laid a fresh ground, and listened. Together they dreamed up blue Himalayan poppies — rare, luminous, otherworldly. And as the painting came alive, Désirée added white daisies — not because Danielly asked, but because she knew her friend would love them.

What emerged was a luminous panoramic garden alive with colour and light. It now hangs in Danielly's kitchen in San Diego — on Abuela Drive — where she named it Abuela's Garden, because it takes her back to the garden just outside her grandmother's door. And at the heart of it all, those rare and breathtaking Himalayan Blue poppies, among the most coveted flowers in the world, shimmer with an otherworldly glow.

Some paintings find their name on the canvas. This one found it in a kitchen on Abuela Drive.

Oil on canvas, 23”×47” (panoramic). The original is held in a private collection in San Diego.

Limited edition prints are available as a canvas print, framed fine art paper print, and unframed fine art paper print.
