The Empty Mountain is an original oil painting by Désirée Paus Sterling, painted in the tradition of classical Asian landscape art — where mountains dissolve into mist, and stillness becomes its own kind of beauty.

This large-scale work is graced with two traditional red seal stamps, hand-carved by Master Henry Cheng — a Fifth Generation Tai Chi Master and master of Qi Gong, Chinese calligraphy, and brush painting. Each seal renders the artist’s name in ancient Chinese seal script — the three syllables of Désirée translated as “conduct,” “silk,” and “wise.”
