A Sacred Vision in Oil & Canvas

Ganesh in the Mandir was painted in the weeks leading up to a grand Ganesh celebration at the Sai temple in El Cajon, San Diego — born from a photograph discovered in the gift shop at the Penukonda Ashram in South India, the holy site of the miracle healing Saint, Sri Swami Kaleshwar.

The very statue that stands guard in the Mandir temple, blessing and protecting the Living Murthi of Shirdi Sai Baba — this is the Ganesh Désirée felt called to paint.

Sacred ash — vibhuti — and sandalwood powder brought from the Penukonda Ashram were woven into the paint itself, applied with intention, prayer, and mantra.

This original oil painting has been lovingly donated to the UCBK Healing Center (Universal Church of Baba's Kitchen) in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, to grace their Healing Oasis with the divine presence and protection of Ganesh. It is currently on display at the Sai temple in El Cajon, San Diego, until it reaches its final home.

This original is not available for purchase. Oil on canvas · 24" × 36" · Signed.  The canvas has 1½" deep gallery-style sides, painted in deep garnet acrylic paint and finished with a satin-gloss varnish for long-term protection and preservation.
